I sell on ebay to supplement my soc. sec. income and it seems like we sellers are the only ones getting the shaft. is there any downside to the managed payments for buyers

Why would there be a downside to MP for buyers?

Just as before (with PP buyer pays)

Upside for buyers is that they have more ways to pay now

Not that I can see.........they actually have more ways to pay.....with the addition of Apple pay.

MP basically has nothing to do with buyers other than offering more ways to pay.

MP is mainly a method of managing how sellers get paid.

There are numerous threads about this.

The only thing buyer might notice is the extra ways to pay. Like Apple Pay and Google Pay.

No one asked, but I am looking forward to the day when having feedback default sorted by relevance seems right.

Nope. No downside for buyers, either.

How are you getting the shaft?

One can only speculate, but although it has nothing to do with MP,  ten nine nine kay comes to mind.

There's no downside for buyers and I don't see any for sellers either.

Have a great day

The only thing I don't like as a buyer is that the email eBay sends says

"you have authorized a payment to eBay"  but gives no clue as to what the item is, or who the seller is.

Yeah, I know what I have bought, sometimes many items, (not on this ID) but the email is useless.

List more, sell more. Goodwill that other, uh, stuff.

Feeling sleepy? There's an app for that.

Which in this case is OK by me - eBay badly needs more buyers.

As others have covered pretty well, there is no downside to MP for buyers.  In fact most buyers probably don't even know what MP is.

It is clear you are having some issues.  Would you like to share those with us so that we might be able to help you?

As for only sellers your size getting the "Shaft", I'm unsure what that means since you didn't give us any specifics.  But please know that MP is NOT just for sellers your size, it is for ALL of us.  Every single one of us no matter what size seller you are.
