Sorry about that large photo...still learning. My two Kestner 171 sisters in new/old matching outfits. The larger one is wearing my Moms very old dime store pearls. Love them. Marie

Here is a composition head German doll made for the Russian market, actually dressed as Russian Nobility in Court attire and clothing marked in Cyrillic. She dates 3rd quarter 19th C. A similar doll was featured in an Antique Doll Collectors Magazine a few years ago, as being a presentation doll from the Russian Emporer. I'll take that tale with a grain of salt from the Russian salt mines...

How wonderful all of the dolls are and such a terrific idea! I am three days late to the party so will start with my favorite doll, an ABG marked 1278 Dep with cobalt blue eyes. I have her original dress which is fragile and is displayed with her rather than worn and I bought her from the son of the original owner.
Her name is Victoria and I have loved her now for 25 years:-)
Thank you all so much for sharing the lovely dolls that grace your homes! Hugs to all, Kimmee
