I wonder if the mint is going to issue a 100 year anniversary coin for the Morgan and Peace dollar this year?
Also I would like to see the Mint issue the Lincoln cent in the original alloy as the wheat cent and the 5 cent coin, in the same alloy as the silver war nickels for the silver proof sets.

i'd love to see the dead president's club be redesigned out of existence...
seems all they do is bring back old designs for commems and change the reverses of circulating coins...
a complete revamp would be great...

el Heron is in agreement with that concept! A complete redesign of USA coinage would be
a good thing (opinion). A good start could be a batch of USA coins featuring some 'Hero Ships' of WW2. Such as the Yorktown and the Lex. And perhaps a few battleships. And
a few cruisers. And even a destroyer or two. Then after a 'ships' series there could be a
series of USA planes used in WW2. And at the same time issue a batch of coins depicting
palm trees. There are many types of palm trees and there are many folks that admire palm
trees (Heron included). Or use a large Silver planchet and design some 'city views' of
famous cities from early USA times. The coin folks here could add dozens of possibilities,
most likely. Such as a series on 'sharks'. Or ocean sports fish. Or famous tugboats.
Just about anything would be a replacement for dead presidentes!

let's see...
Lincoln cent - 1909
Jefferson nickel - 1938
Roosevelt dime - 1946
Washington quarter - 1932
Kennedy half - 1964
seated liberty coins lasted from 1837 to 1891... 54 years... even the Kennedy half has lasted longer...

Great photo of a USA submarine. That would look great on a 50 Centavos coin (opinion).
(Or even a $1 coin?) (Or a very large Silver $10 coin?).

Yes! It is certainly the time to replace some a those old coin designs. There are many
things that could replace 'dead presidentes'.

Certainly not live presidents!?!?!?!

That is a good point! We could possibly consider live presidents to be in the same
category as dead presidents.

by law, no living person may be depicted on US currency...
there have, however, been a half-dozen or so exceptions granted by CONgress...
