eBay Global shipping sucks

Every time a seller uses eBay Global Shipping it turns into a 1–2-month journey on a container ship. Second bad experience and the last. I will ask seller every time what shipping he is using if it's eBay Global shipping I will ask for another way to ship it or it's a no-go. Seller shipped a Sailors WW1 era British Navy ditty box on time, but eBay Global shipping fumbled the ball. It got stuck 11 days saying this little box was a restricted item it was a little wooden box. With a little complaint by seller and buyer the slow eBay global shipping finely put it in a container on a container ship 11 days late. I used to load containers on container ships of military equipment when in the Navy takes 2-4 days to load one then the slow ride over and if there so cheap to use container ships when it gets from England to the USA, they use Big Rigs trucks for a slow ride across the states no air for global shipping. And there no way to give feedback on Global shipping only the seller and it's not their fault. There should be a way seller and buyer can give feedback on global shipping. Otherwise, it stays broken and does not get better. So sellers avoid using eBay global shipping to avoid bad feedback. Funny thing when I contacted eBay, they said it was not shipped by eBay Global shipping, but the seller told me it was, and the tracking said it was eBay Global Shipping, eBay don't want to claim their problem child eBay global shipping the slowest shipping on the planet. When a seller uses other shipping even royal mail faster had a deck clock from England, I got off eBay on my doorstep in 2-3 days, I did not ask for FedEx, but he got the best feedback I ever gave.

Re: eBay Global shipping sucks

It's not perfect, probably more expensive and slower.

It's not ideal for buyers.

However it is ideal for sellers.  It brings more sellers who only do domestic to the international game because us sellers still only do the domestic side.

It also brings us far more protection as a lot of foreigners will abuse returns and the return costs are a lot higher which results in higher likelihood that the buyer gets both money and item.

You can always pass on the sellers who use it and look for one who ships directly. The listing tells you in the shipping section if it's eIS or not.

Ebay will remove it if you use eIS.

Since it was eBay mess up, they should have shipped it by air as a curtesy on their dime.

Re: eBay Global shipping sucks

September 14 and it's done passed. Got put in a container on Sept. 12 that's a container ship. That takes 12-14 days to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

eBay removed their mistake that it was a restricted item when it was a little wooden box. Now trying to hide eBay global shipping mistake.

Re: eBay Global shipping sucks

Should I report it missing you have 30 days to report it after expected delivery date but the first date was the 25 then it was updated to the 14 that has long passed.

Re: eBay Global shipping sucks

I just went thru this very thing. My purchase sat for 15 days doing nothing and going nowhere despite me paying for "expedited" shipping. The item took 21 days to reach me (california) from UK.

The item is/was a high quality  gearbox bearing that are no longer being produced. I needed several but after the GSP delay I was reluctant to order more.

I found another UK seller however and noticed he used Royal Mail/USPS and gave them a try.

Three (3) days total to go from UK to California and my mailbox. So Royal Mail is 3 days and eBay's GSP, a system designed to streamline things, takes 3 weeks. Not a huge surprise to me as everything the eBay upper management touches turns to.... well  you know....

Avoid the EIS, GSP or whatever it's being called today. Find Sellers not using it. It's right in the middle of the listing and ez to find.....

Re: eBay Global shipping sucks

Mine did wind up arriving. I got an email once it arrived in the US. Didn’t get a new tracking number to use, but I could use the ebay app to track it.
