Did you mean:

Notifications for being @ mentioned in posts.

nicole@ebay or anyone else familiar with Community settinngs:

Is there a way to turn off notifications (appearing on the Community bell) when I'm @ mentioned in people's posts? If not, is there a way to turn off ALL notifications that show up on the Community bell? I have a stalker harassing me by @ mentioning me with every reply--even after having been politely asked no to--and the mods are unresponsive.

I've tried a number of the blocks available in the "My Settings" area under "Notifications" but nothing I've tried so far has worked. If nothing else, I'll have to resort to blocking the entire element with my ad blocker app--which I'm willing to do if necessary to stop this harassment. It's getting so it's not a safe environment in which to post anymore.

If I were asked to vote I would vote against any programming that changes the current way @ mentioning is used on The Community.

Why would you be against an OPTION for people who don't want to be annoyed by unwelcome @ mentions to be able to OPT OUT of a notification for said @ mentions?

After I started this thread, the "offending" member @ mentioned me FOUR TIMES IN ONE POST. Why do you think I shouldn't be able to opt out of that?

I object to anyone who thinks their post is so important for me to see. It rarely is.

Just try Nicole's solution to see if it works for you. As far as I know there is only 1 way to get @mentioned, so I think Nicole's solution will work for you.

@candd205

Please reread the posts in this thread.

I'm not looking for a way to stop receiving emails regarding @ mentions, which is what Nicole has posted. I blocked that ages ago. So, no, Nicole's suggestion will not work for me.

I have no idea what is meant by "As far as I know there is only 1 way to get @mentioned." Again, I'm not interested in how to @ mention or how to get @ mentioned.

Originally, you asked for help and how to stop the bell notifications. You did not indicate anything about email notifications. To be upset if someone comments on your bell notification question seems out of bounds.

I want to stop the bell notification when I'm @ mentioned. I am not interested in the email notifications, since I turned those off years ago. I explained that clearly in my first post, my second post, and my third post. The comment to which you're referring was not regarding my bell notification question, it was regarding EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS.

I have never expressed ANY interest in EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS. I have been more than clear that I'm interested in avoiding BELL NOTIFICATIONS. It's not a difficult concept.

Hopefully that will clear up your misunderstanding of the topic being discussed in this thread.

 You're apparently not aware that members can post with multiple user ids. The situation I described in my original post did not take place on this id.

@eleanor*rigby After researching this in many places I unfortunately could not find a way to turn this off for you. If there is anything else I can help with please let me know!
