Re: Help! 1600 items ended eBay says presale

I would be willing to bet the farm that presale has nothing to do with it, but this does:

Our store is located in Beautiful San Bernardino, CA since 1956 and as a small business we appreciate you looking at our items. Any questions please ask. We welcome you to stop by to see any item in person and take a look at all our other cool stuff we have for sale!

Interested in an item, contact us for our LAYAWAY option!

For any and all purchases $1,999.99 and over please contact prior to purchasing to setup payment arrangements.

Ebay thinks you are trying to take business off-site, and layaway isn't allowed.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

The handful of ended listing I looked at had the lawaway message along with a telephone number.  There have been a few other threads reporting mass take-downs of listings that contain contact information.

I looked at active listings and completed listings.  Your completed listed which ended on July 26th and a lot of them on that date, seemed to have your phone number disguised in the description, where you active listing I looked at did not?

You should know what happened as you made changes at some time to circumvent the system.  Perhaps you forgot to change the active GTC listing that were in violation from day one and only made changes to you newer listings?

At any rate this is your violation and the reason why these listings were removed.

Spend the time needed to make the changes  before yu list these items again or face restrictions and possible permanent suspensions.

Re: Help! 1600 items ended eBay says presale

You know ... if they are gonna take down peoples' listings at least they should get the reason right! This isn't the first time we've seen someone come to the boards puzzled on why their listings were ended because of the reason eBay gave them.

I wonder if a real human ever looks at this before it happens because if they do then perhaps they should have been one of the fired ones for getting reasons wrong.

When eBay takes down listing they send you a message explaining the actions and why but of course conveniently the OP did not mention this.

I can not believe that you would place blame on anyone other than the seller who was trying to circumvent the policies?

Oh My G ... you just stop it! You know me better than that. I'm just saying ... we've seen other sellers say they were given the wrong reasons for listings ended ... who gave them that reason? In an eBay email? From some CS who doesn't even know magazines can't be sent Media Mail? Did someone on one of the boards or the Member-To-Member board tell them it was because of "presale"?

So who told this particular seller it was because of presale? Just because this seller was wrong doesn't make someone or some "thing" giving them the wrong reason in the right.

If I tell you that you are a green person from Mars does that make it truth? I don't think so. I just want to know the truth on who told this seller "presale".

And remember, this is eBay ... who can't even keep our Recently Viewed Items straight!!!!! I cleared my items this morning to zero and now I have over 90 items and I haven't even been looking at anything so how can we trust anything eBay does????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Re: Help! 1600 items ended eBay says presale

@readabouthorses  There was no reason to call eBay about it.  They send you a message explaining what happened and why (I know this from experience).  My violation was MV listing not in compliance about 400 of them.  If you have ever made MV listing (some with 30 variations) they take some time to create them.  I assume the OP did not like the reason and called to get a different answer or solution?

I will go one step further and say the OP was probably warned about it at some time earlier than when the listing take down happened (I had this happen to me) and it looks like they started to make changes on some listings but did not get to all 1600 of them before the takedown ( I spent about 100 hours on my corrections, and I did it in the time frame they gave me to do it, then called and had a specialist looks at them and give me an approval). Which they did and said he recorded my actions and his decision, whatever that meant?

IMO the OP knew fully what was happening before it happened and trying to find a quicker way to edit out the violations from the descriptions on all those listings was overwhelming.  I get it. It was overwhelming to me when I went through it.

Perhaps the takedown of these listings will help the OP in correcting them now?

Re: Help! 1600 items ended eBay says presale

I've had one of these takedown notices. It gives you a long list of possible reasons that you were taking down including presale contact information excetera.

They assume that sellers bright enough to determine why their listings were taken down

Re: Help! 1600 items ended eBay says presale

I've never done a MV listing because MV isn't available in magazines and that is all that I sell.

But this still doesn't answer the burning question: who told the OP it was because they were presale? Inquiring minds want to know! I am a truth-seeker ... I always want to get to the bottom of things and that is why I'm a Social Media Investigator.

A social media investigator. Is that like being a member of the Dick Tracy Junior detectives?

Oh you are funny! No actually ... it is a real job. Want to know something about someone ... let me dig up the dirt because I know all the places to look.  I had to get into it when someone bought a house I was selling, didn't pay, ripped the house apart and moved out and hid. A private I wanted too much to try to find them so I started digging myself and then found out it is a real job.  I can find things about people they probably don't even know about themselves and the more you investigate stuff the easier it becomes. People are just too free with what they share in their social media because they think no one is looking but I could be looking if someone asks me to do a check on them and as long as it is public it is fair game.

I do not know and I can not recall hearing a reason called presale before.  It used to be called fee circumventing or something like that?  Presale sounds good though.

Regardless of what it is called maybe the message said one thing and the CSR person called it another, and maybe both parties did not understand what the other was speaking about and maybe the CSR person did not have the info because it was something escalated past there knowledge area.

None of it really matters, except the OP knows what to do to get those listing back up and I would suggest to the OP once they get them back to call and have a listing specialist review some of them and give an approval.  That is what I did and have not had any issues since.
