I purchased some items from Walmart a little while ago and decided to sell them on Ebay. My listing was taken down within an hour due to the "counterfeit" policy. I thought perhaps it was because I had used stock photos so I took pictures of the item and reposted. Again, after about an hour it was taken down. Today I called Ebay customer service and talked to two very nice representatives. They were very kind and helpful. That last person I spoke to said they did not see any reason for why it would be counterfeit but would send it to a specialist. I just received an email from the specialist. They informed me my appeal was denied, no reason was listed as to why, they did not ask for receipts, they did not do any follow up. I have not received a reason for my item being taken down aside from the "counterfeit policy". I am told this is their "final decision". Just very frustrated right now.

I would just advise you to be careful, once you get on Ebays radar for listing a counterfeit item,(Im not saying it was), those sellers start having problems with other listings.

Did you actually buy it in the store or did you order it online from a 3rd party seller on the Wal-Mart website?
It appears that this was most likely a 3rd party seller that sold it on the Wal-Mart website...

Appreciate the advice, I don't sell too often anyway just super disappointed the item was taken down seemingly arbitrarily. If the item is counterfeit I would like to know, but not sure why they think it is.

Sure..good luck...Ebay is never required to explain themselves..so they dont! LOL...

I did purchase it online and it was from a 3rd party. Does Walmart not verify the items? This is my first time utilizing Walmart like this. If these items are counterfeit I would like to send them back but really don't have any info as to why it would be counterfeit.

From the Obagi website. The problem probably isn't Walmart, it's eBay.

If Ebay deems it counterfeit, I wouldn't relist it. I would hate to see your account suspended. It's their playground, their rules.
Good luck and Happy Selling!

Very interesting, thanks for pulling that up. Interestingly though the same Obagi product I listed has been sold on ebay as recently as yesterday.

Gavin,
I also have had two items judged counterfeit and can state most absolutely that was an incorrect ruling. As to why your items were so judged, this is business and that is just as irrelevant as it was in my case.
Concerning the prevention of a recurrence, there is not any guarantee of which I have knowledge. I chose to accept that of which I had no control and continue a relationship with the platform.

Yeah, you are correct. I wont relist it. I just wish there was another playground to go to right now. Best of luck to you as well! Thanks for the advice!

Very common for other sellers to go unscathed while yours gets removed. Not fair, I know. As @bonjourami said, once you're on their radar, game over.
I highly suspect they slap you with some kind of electronic tag that monitors if you relist. < conjecture on my part, but it makes sense.

In my friend's case she bought it in person in a WM store (I was with her). She never tried to relist them here, sold it elsewhere for more than she was asking on ebay.
She even asked the company if they were implying Walmart was selling counterfeits. Never did get a reply to that one.

holy smokes....
in deference to that list from the website
at least one seller has sold 186 of these over the past 3 months
there are multiple quantity sellers of obagi products.....
these sellers "must" have some sort of exemption/permissions/authorization, we are not privy to, to peddle the product here on ebay, and that list is to deter just 'anyone' like us regular people, from selling.....
I suspect it might be like authentication of baseball cards and handbags maybe.......

Basically, Walmart is competing with Ebay/ Amazon by allowing 3rd party sellers on their site.
So Just like ebay can't police every listing, Walmart can not either.
