Thoughts on these ceramic vegetables

Got these from the estate of a wealthy collector.  They are so detailed and signed on the top but having trouble making out artist.  Would these just be decorator pieces?  Curious as they are large and we'll detailed.

Not sure what you mean by band.  The first letter might be a fancy V?  Nelsen was a pretty good guess. The last letter is hard to decipher.

They are beautifully done. I'm seeing thousands of fruit sculptures on another site. A lot of them seem to be Italian made.
