I haven't seen this variation of the "HAND PAINTED" "MADE IN JAPAN" circle mark, but it may be one of those used by the Takito Co. (although one typically sees the two diamonds mark on their wares.) Maybe an avenue to further pursue, but this is certainly not a definitive co. id., just a thought.

I cropped your picture, which enlarged the mark. I don't recognize it, but maybe you can find it if you spend some time at gotheborg.com site. It's probably the best collection of MIJ marks on the web
