I bought this interesting jug today in a local auction (cheap) because I really liked it. 🙂 Believe it is the head of a St Bernard dog. The jug is about 8 1/2 inches from end of snout to the outside loop of the handle; about 7 inches from edge of ear to edge of ear and is 5 inches tall. It is a VERY heavy piece of pottery as well. It has a couple of cracks so isn't in perfect condition. But I was surprised there was no maker's mark on the bottom.
Just wondered if anyone might have seen a similar jug and know who the maker might be and an idea of when it might have been made? THANKS for any information.
