While it looks like Eduardo Vega, I have never seen his signature without the slash through the G. I found that DeJur is the name of a camera or company, which then makes the design make lots of sense; but the back was covered by felt, ehich I removed.

Perhaps he was retained by DeJur to create a number of these trays for a promo or premium.

Hi, thanks. Yes, that was my thinking too, until I read this:

"To ensure that you are looking at an
originally manufactured work of art by
Eduardo Vega, examine the signature. It
should read E.Vega. If it just says Vega,
you don’t have the real thing. Only pieces
marked E.Vega or Juan Guillermo Vega
are authentically manufactured by them."

And after looking at many of his pieces, have yet to see one where the G is not slashed.

Also, DeJUR went out of business in 1961, so Vega would have been very young, studying in Europe (born 1938), in his 20s; he was in Europe until 1969.

So, this would have to be one of his very, very early pieces.

Oops, now I find another ref that says DeJUR was in biz til 1974.

Still, no E. and no slash...

Just found an item that has the same signature, so I guess he didn't always slash his G.
