I have just been changed to Managed Payments. I cannot make heads nor tails of the fees being charged. The 12.35% +.30 is plain, but what is the other fee that is charged after the sale. Nothing I read makes any sense.

I'm far from an expert, but the only thing I can think of is that 8% would have been the sales tax amount the buyer paid. It would be sent to eBay, not included in yourn payout.
Check your Order Details page. This would show the sales tax paid.

Are you using promoted listings? The promoted listing fee on a sold item is still invoiced.

What other fee?
When your item sells, eBay will charge you 30¢ + 12.35% of the buyer's total payment amount.
This fee is applied to the selling price, shipping paid by buyer, & sales tax paid by buyer.
If the buyer is non-US, there will be an additional 1.65% international fee.

No, I use mostly auction style, thanks

Yes, I have that, but on the first sale using the MP, I was charged the 12.35% + .30 when the item sold, then another charge of about 8% of the amount of the item sale price. I can't figure it out.

The kiddie car?
You see this 8% amount separate from the FVF charge?
Where do you see it?
To which state did you ship?

Yes, that's the one. What is the 8% charge? Please and thank you!

Oh--shipped to Kentucky

Oh again. I only saw the 8% charge when the payout was done.

I have been looking at that, and I think you are probably right. I appreciate your help, eBay is sure making it clear as mud. What a bookkeeping nightmare this is going to be. Thanks again.

Up front, I will say that we refuse to enroll in Managed Payments so our time on eBay is quickly nearing an end.
Doesn't anyone else find the fact that eBay takes their percentage on S&H AND sales tax outrageous?

Indeed I do find it outrageous.

Actually, that solution still leaves a small charge unexplained!
