READ - How ebay made the last month pure hell for me and THEN made it even worse! CRAZY

I just want my voice heard on how ebay has made this last month hell for me and then destroyed business for me. And yes, it all starts with the managed payments nightmare.

 

1. Against my will, I was forced into managed payments for my business account which has been awful on my personal account. I provided ebay VALID documents proving my decade old business exists and is valid (EIN, Business license etc). They denied these documents countless times, talking phone calls daily and email after email. Each time, telling me all my documents look good and they do not understand what is happening, but tell me to wait 48 hours.  They FINALLY admit to a glitch in their system. They also admit my 15+ requests for escalation never went anyplace. After this, it still took about 10 more calls and maybe 10 emails to get things fixed. I have probably spent 20 hours this past month just trying to get things resolved. Is ebay going to compensate me for their mess? Oh heck no.

 

2. During this time I have not received a dime for sales as they had payments on hold, but I had to ship. They would not allow me to edit or update listings causing issues with customers that will probably lead to bad feedback when I have been at 100% for a very long time. Everything but sales and messages were locked up but they wanted to make sure they received their cash. Not a single thing I have done wrong, 100% on ebay.

 

3. IT GETS EVEN WORSE! So today March 3rd was their "drop dead date". The day they said if things were not updated and resolved, they would put my ebay store and account on hold. Holding this over me when I provided them everything they needed. Early today, they did put my account on hold and ended ALL of my listings! These listings had been up for years, they show a sales record, number purchased and so forth. Providing confidence in buying from customers as countless others have been purchasing. Minutes after they ended all my listings, they finally re-instate the account as ALL of my documents were VALID that I had been providing for a month. Yet the DAMAGE WAS DONE. They cannot fix all the ended listings, sales history, timing of those listings and so forth. I now have to schedule listing times, pay for that scheduled time and bring my store back online that Ebay wrecked. Absolutely UNREAL.

 

#Jamie Iannone , CEO of Ebay... You have dealt a disservice to all ebay sellers. I know you have heard this over and over with this forced managed payments nightmare and you have made it clear in your meetings that you do not CARE about us. Making more money for shareholders is the only goal so you look good to them in a board meeting. So this is my tale of how you have and will continue to cost me sales, have cost me countless hours, held my hard earned funds and now erased all of my sales history which will have a MAJOR impact on business. I may be a small power seller with a 20 year old account, but I should have never had to jump through your mismanaged hoops and nightmare processes and then have my store wrecked. Glad it was still so easy to bill me!

Thank you for posting this. I hope they make it right. I will look at your listings when they are back up and running.

Well when you contact eBay ask for a payment specialist to try and do some thing about this.

Oh, I went through all that for over 30 days! Rep after rep, document upload after document upload. Turned out to be a problem in their system. Nothing to do with me but I had to work with them for a month to get it resolved form their error. And the day they resolve it, they end all my lists and put my store on hold for mere minutes causing this nightmare.

Ebay should be sending you $1000 gift card for all the trouble. Site is going down the drain fast, even this forum redesign is so much worse than before.

garage1217 -  I am so sorry about all of the **bleep** you have gone through and how ebay has damaged  your business and life. I would like to think they could do some sort of restoration process from a server backup to get things back where they were. I hope things work out, I wish you the best.

 

Ebay forgets that if it weren't for sellers, there would be no buyers, thus no ebay. I've been a member since 1997 and it makes me so mad at how little ebay supports sellers, we get punished for things beyond our control...can you say USPS delivery fiascos. They let buyers control the sellers really, as it is their side ebay takes even in cases that are obviously something in the seller's favor. I hope Jamie Lannone resigns or gets the boot, their board either has blinders on or do not give a rat's ass how the lifeblood (sellers) of their entity is being treated. I'm broadening my sales platforms by using Mercari, OfferUP and FB Marketplace where at least I won't get taken advantage of by the company I'm helping make money for.

Since my last escalation with the support rep telling me I was SOL (the day they deleted all my listings on March 3rd) zero call backs or email contact after they promised to escalate and have management call me. I still have not relisted anything in hopes they can restore, but does not look like it. I am with you boxworthyreseller. I am starting to focus more on other venues and marketplaces as well.

 

And I agree airdzi... $1K gift card or credit would barely cover the time they made me waste, sleep lost and labor to start all listings again on timers. More like $2500 - $3k minimum now since all my store and sales history is... history. I know they never will. They really did just totally screw me over and I can't even get a call back.

This is **bleep**. I haven’t sold on eBay for a long time until yesterday. Buyer made payment but I have no idea where it went. eBay shows paid, and also shows not paid, and it says funds available March 29th?? A $250 sale.  Last thing I am selling

Sorry too hear that, but eBay over the last two years has become Seller unfriendly, no doubt about it.  You can now look forward to the IRS knowing exactly what you make selling on eBay too, even if just a small part-time seller.  Thanks eBay!!
