Payment on Demand needs to know my recent bank transactions-WHY?

I decided to sign up for Payment on Demand using my debit card which is linked to the same bank acct that eBay already sends my payments to. Since it's the same bank acct why they would need a copy of my statement again is confusing, but that's minor so they can have that one. However I can not see any reason why they would need me to include my recent transactions. It has nothing to do with getting paid nor is it really any of their business. It's a total invasion of privacy. I have had to provide bank statements to several different types of financial institutions, as well as the United States government and never did any of them ask me to include my recent transactions. So please can someone give me a legitimate answer as to why they would need to know this and how it's relevant to them sending payments? Thanks!
