Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

I don't know about the rest of you,But I feel this managed payment is a major inconvenience for both the buyer,and the seller. Now,whenever I sell an item,the buyer pays instantly,but cannot get his/her item,until several days later,when the payment is deposited in my bank,and possibly longer,for the transaction to show up at my bank. I already went round for round with one buyer,who was in a hurry to get the item he paid for. I told him,that he has eBay to thank for that. He wasn't happy,and THAT will eventually affect my feedback score. Also,because now the payments are being deposited in my bank,I have no idea which item is actually being paid,as the payments are not identified by the purchaser,as they were on Paypal. My bank just shows a deposit by ebay. I have multiple items selling at the same price.How do I know who's item was paid for???? I think this payment management is bull**bleep**.

Re: Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

You ship when ebay says the buyer has paid, not when the funds land in your bank account. this is how MP works. There is no getting around it if you want to continue to sell on this platform.

Re: Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

Refusing to ship until the money is in your bank account is your problem, not the buyer's, and it's going to have serious consequences if you continue. You can see what's been paid for in your Seller Hub.

If you're going to delay shipping, you need to increase your handling time. What you're doing now is unprofessional. Managed Payments should have absolutely no effect on the buyer, aside from giving them more options for payment.

If you're waiting until the payment hits your bank, you deserve every INR that buyers open

Re: Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

With postal delays is is unwise to make a buyer wait a long time before you ship your merchandise. In order to do well you must provide timely shipments and with MP you will not get paid instantly like PP but the funds are there and usually in the bank account within a few days as long as your bank processes funds fast. If you cannot wait the few days to get the funds in the bank before shipping then your customers ARE going to be upset, especially if you make them a wait a LONG TIME.

Re: Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

I've been in MP since Fall, 2019... when payments took 6-14 days to become my deposits and shipping fees were strictly out-of-pocket. To keep my Seller Metrics and my bank account from taking any 'dings', I pushed my Handling Time way out. As long as you ship within your Handling Time, you're good with eBay.

For what it's worth... the system has improved. Now, my buyer's payments are my bank deposits in 4 working days. Also, sellers now have the ability to ship using 'Pending' funds... you can change your preference at the bottom of the label page.

Good luck to you... it's a matter of adapting, but it's doable.

@richd860

If your buyers are upset because you won't ship until the funds are in your checking account, that's on you.

There's no reason to put off shipping if Ebay says it's time to ship.

Have a great day

@richd860

Click on the "payments" tab in the "sellers hub"

You will be able to see what is going on with each buyer payment.

Wrong. eBay doesn't tell me when to ship. That's my decision. I have a 15-day handling time and ship when the buyers' payment hits my bank. If you want to do otherwise, That's your business.

Re: Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

Nothing leaves my home,until I have been paid. Do you walk out of a store with a TV,and tell them,payment will be made in 3 days? I don't think so.

Because of this MP **bleep**,I've eliminated shipping,altogether. No longer an option.I'm thinking that eBay itself,may no longer be an option.

Ebay can kiss my ass.After 21 years of constantly changing policies,and less rights for the SELLER,I've had enough. Just deleted 19 active auctions.I will Find other avenues in which to sell,and there are MANY!!!! As soon as my account is satisfied with whatever I may owe eBay,my account will be closed for good.Tired of the bull**bleep**.eBay is getting to greedy. Must be Democrat run.

If I pay with a credit card, that's exactly what I do. The store doesn't get that money instantly.

The buyer has paid when they finish the payment process, not when the money gets to your bank account.

And LOL at eBay being "Democrat run". If you don't recognize pure capitalism (you know, the thing all of those Democrat socialists are supposed to be against), you should take a business class.

Re: Inconvenienced by Managed Payments

Yeah well I'm not gonna pay sometimes $100+ out of pocket on shipping costs. I understand it sucks for the buyer but that's what it is.

I guess I just won't use eBay anymore then.
