Hate the discussion board format? Wish there was a place to have a running chat like in the old ebay chat rooms that they took away?
Here is the solution, one thread devoted to chatting about anything and everything about coins all in the same place.
Post whatever is on your mind. There is no official topic here. So let's get the chatting started.

"The rabbit is an agent provocateur."
Isn't agent provocateure and troll the same thing only different?
LOL !!!

Thanks for the compliment. I've been practicing my rudeness for many years, it's part of my cultural heritage as a NYer.
I never did visit the chat but I was under the impression it was over run by unruly trolls. All I see is a bunch of normal people who are too busy arguing about who the trolls really are to do any actual trolling.

You must have accidentally hit the subscribe button. Check your preferences and look for an option to unsubscribe. Perhaps hitting the subscribe button again will bring up the option but that is just a guess. That would probably make too much sense.

I looked, it's under preferences on the upper right of your screen.

I think that being a pretty girl no one ever challenged her before.
How would anyone here know that? You are the only one around here who has met her. 😉

Hey koincollektor,
While you're in you preferences, tell it to display the most recent post on top. That helps the newest version of the board display better. (they changed it about the time they told us the chat room would shut down.)
I started posting over here after some particularly ugly fighting over on the coin chat and found this format nicer in how you could ignore or confront the trolls, depending on your preference. I lurked for a couple of years on the chat and was tempted to join back in. But then I got involved with the Coin Forgery Ebay Group, and that took up my remaining free time.
There's always been some cross-flow between those three venues. I think daveroo is the only current poster here that has spent time recently in both C&PM and Coin Chat. Chuckie610, ksconfed ans kcvet used to stop in here, but I've not seen them for a while. I'm afraid Jesse's age may have caught up with him, and I keep him in my prayers.
It would be nice if you guys found time to hang out here. I remember you and smokey and ragsi and pennyman fondly (and others whose names slip my mind). Many here remember smedley from years ago and would love to hear from him again.
Truth-be-told, I never was all that uptight with the blue heron (aka garcia-grande?) He could be obnoxious. But once you accepted that he wasn't going to post pictures of his treasures (I decided it was probably because he washed and pressed his notes), and he was always going to claim that San Diego had the best weather in the world, Jay wasn't a bad sort.
I think the compartmentalized nature of the threads here helps. We can have one poster calling a bunch of us ignorant racists on one thread, while we're oohing and aahing over his Conder tokens and photography skills on another thread.
Johnny is OK, because he's self-deprecating and he's smarter than he acts. The real trolls that show up here don't last long and their ravings usually wind up restricted to a few threads and they are easily skipped.
Hope you all stick around. But if not, I wish you all well in your further wanderings. If you do go, leave the cute one behind. You know who!:-x

He's another one, Coming in talking about his political crap. Who care's, I have the news for that. And trying to pawn of his stuff about buying gold. I know what gold is and I know somewhat about coins.
We've got a separate compartment for that here, so you should find it an improvement.
As for people dropping in to ask questions, this board is about as good as it gets. Someone can answer just about anything, no matter how obscure. Cooke is one of the few really sharp tacks who posts regularly, but there are many others who (I suspect due to some of the troll activity) apparently only lurk. But post a question involving their specialties, they often post an amazingly useful reply in less than 24 hours.

This place is like a "parrot" repeats itself

AOL is what made chats famous their chat rooms used to be full of ordinary people talking about all sorts of things but their chat rooms were over run with perverts and people spamming web cams and porno years ago. I'm not sure how it is now maybe they cleaned it up but the connotation between chat rooms and sex perverts remains. So it's funny to yank people's chains about it.
But all seriousness asside, this is a better format because you can start your own thread if you want to discuss a specific issue and not be over shawoded by a flame war about the federal reserve. You can also cary on multiple conversations at the same time without confusion.
One thing to be aware of is if you leave the reply box open too long the page will time out so if you get inturruped mid post and come back later it's best to copy what you wrote and paste it into a new box otherwise your words of wisdom could be lost.

Well, a much nicer room than I first came into. Johnny, you have to admit that was kinda an under the table low blow to speak of us Coin Chat roomers in such a manner without at least getting to know some of us first. You had several negative comments on the "other board" we have created about that particular comment and I finally couldn't help myself but to point it out to you.
My time is limited so I'll probably do most any posting on this board here and maybe upon occasion if I have some extra time go hit some of the other threads. I just don't want to lose touch with a lot of the other posters we had on the coin chat room that don't know about the other board or have no interest in it.
Thanks for the tidbits on how to make the newer posts come first and how to stop the annoying e-mails. Got all that fixed so kinda like a kid in a candy store now. This type of chat works for me and to be honest, really is an improvement of the other chat board, just takes some getting used to and as we all know, coin collectors by nature are some hard headed set in their way people (IMO). Anyhow, thanks for the welcome and maybe a few of the others will gradually wander over here.
Gacooke...KSconfed posted on "our" board about 6 months ago and said he was spending all his time trying to take care of his wife and that was why he wasn't able to post anymore. I don't think he's jumping too many high fences either though.

Oh and thank you for the info about the reply box. Didn't know that

make that Peace not Piece.... btw, my typing ( if you want to call it that, is terrible ).

I tried that reverse order on preferances but ended up not caring for it. I ended up reading posts out of order. I did change to only show 10 posts per page and do not have to scroll forever to see the latest posts.
Been watching all my football teams get creamed today. :_| I'm a HUGE Cardinals fan and also follow the Titans pretty close. Being in Utah, there is no local team but most folks flock towards Broncos or one of the California teams. My dad is a Raiders fan.
I'm thinking of rooting for another team this year to keep me interested until the play-offs. I thought I might root for Daveroo's team, the Bucks, but I think I jinxed them too. Sorry Dave? Maybe Pittsburg or Miami? We'll see..lol

Whoops, Bucks should have been 'Skins as in Washington Redskins...........
