8 Feb 2022- Greetings to all coin & token collectors, where-ever you might be. (Note: This coin/token is NOT FOR SALE. This post is an
acquisition report to share the joy of coin & token collecting with other
coin & token collectors). Well, number 577 is another interesting place
that has been annexed into another place.
The coin: 21.1mm dia. - Round - Zinc - grades XF+.
(Note: this token is possibly Nickel plated. It appears to be plated
with some kind of metal. An opinion only; at this time)
Obverse: At center is Crowned City Coat of Arms depicted Saint
Gertrude. (Some years ago there was a compadre coin collector
that created an interesting 'thread' regarding 'Saints on Coins'. This
coin/token would be a perfect example).
Legend: STADT WATTENSCHEID.
Reverse: Large '10' at center.
Legend: KRIEGSGELD PFENNIG 1917.
Kriegsgeld = Wartime Money.
Mint: Adam Donner, Elberfeld, Germany.
Issuing Authority: Prussian Westfalen.

Wattenscheid is located on the west side of Stadt Bochum. The
west side of Bochum is about 20 miles east of French border.
