City of Nagold on Nagold River-50 Pfennig-1918. nr 535.

28 May 2021: Greetings to all coin & token collectors, where-ever you

might be.  Heron is pleased to report acquisition of another 50 Pfennig

World War One emergency issue of 1918.   This is a one year of issue item

by a somewhat obscure place.  However,  it counts as nr 535:

Note: coin is 23.7mm dia. - round - Zinc - grades VF.

Obverse:  Medium large 50 at center.

                      Legend: AMTSKOERPERSCHAFT - NAGOLD - 1918.

Note: Amtskoerperschaft = Official Alliance.

Reverse:  Very Large 50 at center.  No legend.

Note: Mintage 1918 = 15,000.

Note: Minted by L. Christian Lauer, Nurnberg.

Note: The River Nagold flows through the city of Nagold.

700 to 450 BC - Early occupation by the Halstatt people.

1st Century AD - Romans occupied Nagold area.

C. 260 AD - The Alemanni people expelled the Romans.

C. 700 AD- Franks conquered the Alemanni.

C. 1220 AD - Pfalzgraf Rudolf von Tubingen made Nagold a city.

1618-1648 - During the 30 years war Castle Hohennagold destroyed.

Note: There is a bus station in Nagold.  (this information supplied for

numismatic travelers that might happen to be in Stuttgart).

Note: Numista rarity index is 97.   (This is a somewhat scarce item).

Note: This coin/token is NOT for sale.  This information regarding an

addition to Heron's small accumulation is for sharing the joy

of coin & token collecting with other coin & token collectors.

**It is always fun to add another item to the accumulation.  Although

this item was designed as a war time emergency item without much

artistic design, it is a rather scarce item from a somewhat obscure

place.   And it is right on a river!   A fun item and a 'lucky find'**

unbelievable... OP literally has "Note: This coin/token is NOT for sale. " in his post...

apparently since it's not at the top of the post, bold, italicized, and 96 point, it's not good enough...

If this is something you have for sale, shouldn't you just list it?

My understanding is that these Boards are  not for the purpose of flogging your items for sale.

Other than the fact that the OP mentions "numismatic travelers who might be in Stuttgart" and explains the location of the bus depot.

If his purpose is not to sell, then why come to eBay and brag about something you've acquired.  Are there not numismatic web sites or periodicals?

Take a wild flying squirrel guess who posted this statement:

"As I've mentioned previously, I have a granddaughter who works in one of the local schools as a Reading Comprehension Specialist (or a similar title).  There are apparently also adults who could use that kind of help."

In all fairness, this just randomly popped up under new posts in the community section. The not for sale part was buried near the end. I also thought it was a newbie trying to advertise a for sale item, especially with the intro line "Greetings to all coin & token collectors, where-ever you

might be.  Heron is pleased to report acquisition of...".

Maybe they could start with NOT FOR SALE.

I have read 300+ posts from elheron sharing coins and their history he has added to his collection. He is one of the very few that posts numismatic related topics on this COINS & PAPER MONEY Discussion Board. Most whine about their eBay purchases and other carp that belongs on another Board. He does not need to start with "NOT FOR SALE" Why does someone that never posts on this Board come here and starts trouble that doesn't know from

el Heron has been a member of eBay Coin & Paper Money chatboard

since Jan 1999.  Heron has NEVER offered any item for sale here.

We are numismatists that like to share our collecting experiences.

Please read the 'posts' very carefully.   Heron includes the statement

'This item NOT for sale'.    It is difficult to mis-interpret this statement.
