Ok I was wondering if anyone can help me out here. I use to hear alerts on my cell phone when an item sold. Now I receive nothing. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem?
I know that some are thinking its because there are no sells on ebay but that not it for me I'm selling a few items to know that its not working.
I hope that I can start receiving them again.

Do I do this in ebay or on my phone? I don't have an iphone - not many options to change sounds.

@reidfam192 Try asking your question in the android app group:

And for those with an Apple product, try this group:

You do not need to install an app to accomplish this. Download the cha ching .mp3 and copy it to your notifications sounds on your phone.
I know how to do this using Gmail.
You have to set up a filter to first send these notifications to a new folder (label).
Then on the Android, go into Gmail and label preferences and apply your new sound to that folder.
I can help if you need it xizziz@gmail.com
Also I do have the cha ching .mp3 if you need it

... most are missing the "cha-ching", on their smart phones,
for a very simple reason, you actually have to have sold
something to hear it.
If you realy need that sound effect fix, I suggest you change
your settings to make a sound when your item doesn't sell, it
will also serve as a reminder to relist that unsold item yet again...
maybe, "doink-doink" would be a good sound... just a thought.

Ayup 🙂
There is a setting in the app to change notification sounds (and turn them in and off)
You can add a "your item has ended" notification ... I suggest

Nope. My ching-ching doesn't sound even when I've sold something since this new app and YES all my alert sounds are set to "on".

I believe there should be three sounds...
If your item didn't sell, "Doink-Doink".
If your item sold and you made money, "Ching-Ching".
Lastly, for many sellers here, if your item sold and you lost money, "Chump-Chump".
that should cover it.

On android phones just go into the notification settings on the ebay app click general notifications and select default notifications for each one...Selling, buying, etc. When the Ebay app was updated it messed up the default notification settings OR ebay thought you should customize it yourself. No need to download custom mp3s and install them in your notification directories in android. Hope this helps.

I tried your solution, but for me it does not work. Each time I set the Selling default to the cash register sound, it goes backt to nothing. Oh well.
maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't think so.
