I'm DELIGHTED to say I am finally sorted! My eBay app is now working.
Despite thinking I had the most up to date Google Play Store, it appears
I didn't. I followed this link:

Tried this and it STILL will not work. All apps, Google services, phone,
android thingmyjig, everything is bang up to date. Very very
frustrating, and that's being polite
I'm having the same issue having recently switched to an android phone,
can log in no problem on the website but keep getting 'invalid request'
when trying to log in on the app. I'm using the most up to date Play
Store and ebay app is also most up to...
