Hi, I'm not a collector, but I've always hung on to unusual coins and wheat pennies for fun(maybe I am a collector?) lol.
I received this 1975 FS nickel in some change at the grocery store and I've never seen one like it.
The copper color is strong.
It has the initials "FS" on the bottom.
It's very shiny and is in very good condition.
On my jewelry scale it weighs 5 oz.
Can anyone tell me any information about it or maybe if it might be of interest to a collector?
I think the FS might refer to the artist.
Thank-you in advance--I appreciate your time..lulu

The FS is the designer of the Jefferson nickel, Felix Schlag (Sp?). It looks like a normal nickel to me, nothing out of the ordinary. Check your scale. It might be 5 grams, not 5 ozs.
