Lego U Clips

Does anyone know how you can tell the difference in a 1x1 modified plate with a vertical u clip (thin or thick u??).

They look the same to me.  Thanks for any help

I'm not sure any of us can help you, unless you post a couple of clear photos and identify which one is the modified plate and the vertical "U" clip.  Have you tried visiting some of the Lego sites that have parts lists?

When I was growing up we didn't have Legos, we had American Bricks made by Elgo.
