Hello, was wondering how things work on Amazon and do you do good with it? Have been with Ebay since 2000 but have just recently gotten back into it seriously, have also tried Etsy but was not real happy with it, may not have given it long enough of a chance but I usually go with my first gut reaction and it told me to walk away (o:
Be well,

Hey Everybody, new here and Ebay in general, started sales about 9 mos ago..... We use Drop Ship suppliers and for the most part have been very pleased with the ones we use. There is one however that we just signed with that We would advise you to steer clear of. If you would like further comment on this please let us know, as unsolicited advice is not our intention. Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hi Everyone, I've been selling on eBay for almost 3 years & really enjoy it. What I don't enjoy is the complete lack of support for sellers & would like to figure out a way to change that so I can stay with eBay & be supported & content. Looking forward to chatting with you & exchanging ideas.

Hello everyone! I am new to E-Bay selling and am still figuring things out. Haven't had a bad experience yet, except to be dropped way down on the search list, maybe because I didn't leave timely answer to a question? (it really wasn't a question at all, but still had to reply to it to clear it off my screen). I sell American flags on wood and am seeing how my competition is cleverly putting themselves above me, by listing the same item 4 times with a price difference of a dime on the exact same item?? Anyway... Good to be in touch with other sellers.

Hi Ken,
I am having great success with Amazon. They are doing a beta program right now where you can create a product page. When you have an item that it not in their catalog, you can create it. You must have a UPC or ISBN number to list items on Amazon. I just took off some items I had on Ebay that was not selling. They sold on Amazon the same day. I also had some Waterford Crystal on Ebay that also was not selling and did the same thing. It sold on Amazon for more than I had it on Ebay. I am in the process right now to move as many items to Amazon as I can. Ebay has its cycles and it is slow right now but Amazon is steady.

Hi. My name is Anne. I am new to Ebay as a seller but I have been buying for a couple of years . Nice to meet you all.!!
So far selling seems to be overwhelming for me. Buying is so easy.
We are military family. Marine Corps. My husband is active duty marine. I wanted to start selling to make little extra money. I am working part time so I can be there for my daughter so she doesn't have to go to after school care . They are so expensive and we can't afford it.
I have tons of stuff that we have outgrown so I decided to start selling. Eventually I do want to sell consistently as a part time business.
So far it has been such a struggle . I spents so many hours listing a few items. Then there are shipping questions.
My goal is to be a honest seller and provide excellent customer service and at the same time earn a little cash .
I have so much to learn.............it is not even funny.
But I intend to hang in there. I always wanted to sell..............just afraid to before.....but now it is time.
I welcome and treasure any suggestions or advice from any of you so please feel free to comment or advise on selling.
So glad to meet all of you out there and have a wonderful day.
Anne

Hi everyone. So is the general consensus that it's worth the time to figure out Amazon & start to sell there as well as on eBay? I've avoided doing it because of the learning curve involved but so many of you say that Amazon is a great place to sell. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Amazon is so easy. Your product must have a UPC or ISBN (for books) number. If your product is New, you use Amazon's picture.
put your price in and you are pretty much done. If it is used, you have to use your photo. They have offered me the beta program to be able to create a product page if the product is not in their catalog. I do about 50/50 and my sales are great there. I did almost exclusively Amazon last Christmas. You do have to get approved to sell in some categories. I got approved to sell in Jewelry
last year and it took 4 months. I wanted to sell New Men's cufflinks and I had to keep submitting my photos till they were approved. You can sell toys all year long until Christmas and you have to get approved every year and there are requirements as far as 60 days prior to Nov 1st regarding the amount of sales you needed to have in that period of time. So you have to start thinking about Christmas NOW. I went to a gift show 2 weeks ago to hook up with vendors to buy product for this Christmas season.

Never, Ever, Ever put all your eggs in 1 basket.
I just got an email from Ebay yesterday that they are ending the Ebay Trading Assistant Program. I just had 500 business cards made from Vista Print. I am an Education Specialist and a Trading Assistant. I sell items for people on consignment. I have my Education Specialist info on one side and the TA on the other side. Ebay is all I do, I have a student scheduled for tomorrow. I have an appointment with a lady on Friday to come see her antiques. I get my leads from Ebay and now they are shutting the TA program down. I get students through Ebay but I also market myself. I have gotten a lot of leads from the TA program but I also had out my business cards a lot. I started a Ebay user group in my area and we meet tonight.

Hi everyone. I am BRAND NEW to Ebay.
I have been selling on Ebay since June and I am not doing that well. I sell a "new" item and have an inventory The product is in the doll category and I don't do the auction. Can someone please tell me the best marketing tips to get my product "out there."
I want to be ready for the Holidays! My product is called the Double Love Doll, a 2 sided face doll. I gift wrap too...see below.
Much Appreciated!

Hello Kathy,
We run a wood shop and have been selling here off and on since 2000, recently we have started advertising our items on Face Book, Tumblr, Twitter and Pintrest. Everytime we add anew item to Ebay, we add a pic and description to each one of these sites with a link to the ebay page our item is on. Seems to work some and I expect it will work even more as we progress.
Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Ann Bartholomew - TX
I've bought some things on eBay, now after visits to thrift stores with Danni Ackerman and a couple estate sales, I'm working on getting it all listed & sold. Thought I'd stop in for some selling advice.

Make sure you describe the condition of your china, example - No chips, cracks of crazing. The free shipping will kill you, once you pack real good, the shipping will run pretty high. I am in Florida and get a lot of orders from California. Shipping is based on zone and weight. Anything over 13 oz has to go Priority as you probably already know. I get $19.95 for a coffee cup and charge $9.50 to ship. So you may want to re evaluate Free Shipping.
Good luck
Margaret
