Non-standard fees
Additional fees will apply when package dimensions exceed USPS sortation specifications and require manual sorting. These fees will apply to Retail Ground, Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, Parcel Select Ground, and First Class Package Service.
A maximum of two non-standard fees may be assessed for a package.
Any advice appreciated!

I would roll them and ship them in a cut-down triangle priority box. If they are mounted on cardboard, you would have to add a stiffener on each side so they don't get bent if you ship them mounted.
Usually they are just laying on the cardboard and shrink-wrapped. If someone glued them down onto the cardboard, it's going to be very expensive.

None of those boxes has a length over 22 inches. Are you thinking of girth??
What is girth? Is it total inches, length, height, and width? That is what I'm talking about?

In economics it is called "demand destruction", and it will get worse as the year progresses (RE: 2008-2009).
Let's go Brandon, "I Did That" <- (._.)?

Girth is the measurement around the Width of the package @mozartbach1971.
Example:
L = 15 W = 12 H = 2
Girth = (W + H ) x 2 = 28"
Length is the longest side = 15"
The forthcoming surcharges look at length, not girth.

OK, that's good in that I don't think I ship anything 22 inches in length

I think you meant under 22".
