views and watchers?

how is it a item actively listed has 1 watcher and 0 views. How can that be, wouldnt someone have to view it to put it on their watch list?

People can see the photo in the listing from searches and check off the little heart icon by the photo which in turn would watch the item for that person without ever opening up the page.

You're able to watch an item without clicking on it and viewing the entire listing.
