Demand that eBay stop finding ways to undermine our businesses by tacking on policies which further enrich their own pocketbooks at the expense of ours!

Why?
I raised mine back in '08 - I quit selling here, on ebay. I still raise mine here on the board(s) on occasion, and some listen, though most don't ........
BUT .........
there are way too many willing to whisper "Yes, Sir", drop to their knees and pay to stay.
And, ebay doesn't care one way or the other. Enough are willing to stay because of past glories and current income - no matter how good or bad, and because they KNOW what to expect.
ebay does provide a service, for which, the newly initiated are quite happy with, as they never knew otherwise. ebay ain't gonna change and those like me ain't gonna come back to sell here until they do. We stand on opposite sides of the fence and throw dirty looks at one another.

Looks like Ebay is doing great. Which also means they are doing things that are bringing more sellers and more buyers to the site. Also means that their recommendations to sellers for being sucessful must be on the mark. If the majority of people felt it was not worth it to sell here then the numbers would be much less. They get the traffic, and stuff sells.

Like most major corporations,
eBay's primary responsibility is to their shareholders.
They make money from sellers here
Like we make money from our buyers.
How would you react to a Buyer's Commission?
To ensure we sellers, don't enrich our pocketbooks at the expense of our buyers?

Actually, that's what you do. Costs to sell go up costs to buy go up, that's just basic business economics. This is NOT the garage sale site that it used to be many moons ago. Go to a garage sale if you want really cheap stuff.

eBay recently topped 1 billion active listings for the first time. eBay's stock price was up 2.4% today and is at its peak since the split with paypal. In Q1 2017 they reported net income of $538 million.
eBay has no incentive to listen to sellers.
One BILLION?
I guess it's a miracle that anything of mine gets seen, let alone sold.

Dear Lynn,
I love you
I hate you
Wait, what was the question?
Your siggy threw me into confusion
Is this what's known as a kerfuffle?
I'm kidding... about my feelings for you
But now I feel blue.
Love/hate
Such strong sentiments.
Oh wait...isn't ebay already using the premise that a Buyer Commission is what keeps the lights on here? How dare we sell at a profit?

Your thread title suggests that you are happy with the current low eBay fees and you want help raising voices to keep them low, but your post is suggesting just the opposite?
I am confused by your thread?
Good Luck Selling!

And yet you keep coming back? Why? Could it be it is still a better deal than anywhere else? If you can find a better deal elsewhere, than I would suggest that you take some of you business over there.

You are maximizing your profits the same as eBay.
Your buyers want you to lower your prices.

We firmly believe these proposals would not only have a detrimental effect on eBay sellers, but buyers as well. And we invite you to join us in calling on the eBay Commission to eliminate requirements that could force eBay to increase your prices for conducting business.
They already did - instead of tossing off bad sellers who go below standard and stay there for 3 months, now they let them stay and charge them an extra 4%.
Is that going to improve a buyers experience?
