So I just received a message from a new buyer telling me that they contacted eBay and that because they are a new user that they are restricted from buying my item and that I have to click the link to remove them. I think this is a scam or phishing link because it asks me to sign in but when I click the sign in with Google or Facebook it does nothing. Then I realized when I opened a new tab and went to eBay.xom I'm already signed in but when I click the link I'm not signed in. I did NOT enter my info or my email or password and click continue. I should be safe right since I didn't enter any info?

"Hey, I just wanted to give you a heads-up about a minor hiccup I encountered with the 'Buy Now' option on your item. Despite attempting payment multiple times, I keep receiving an error message indicating that the payment was rejected. Following a direct chat with the tech support team, they explained that this issue is fairly common with new accounts like mine. It appears that certain seller accounts, including yours, aren't currently configured to accept immediate payments from brand-new accounts. They recommended I reach out to you and share this link where you could enable the option for immediate payment for new or recent accounts. Doing so would significantly streamline the purchasing process for new users interested in your items, such as myself.
"Copy and paste this URL into your browser to access the tool."

If everything goes well, please let me know so I can attempt my payment again.
-Donna"

Screams scam to me don't do it, you have a very expensive item as a new seller and that attracts scammers.

There is a possibility that the link is a hack attempt to possibly malware. You should edit your post and remove the link. This is a malicious attempt of some type. You should also report the message to eBay.

It's a huge line of baloney. There's nothing wrong with your account. The scammer is trying to con you into thinking they paid you through that malicious link. Don't click on it. If you did, you need to change your password immediately.
Block that buyer and report the message you can do both within the message by clicking the drop down menu labeled "Actions."

I reported it. I did click on the link but I didn't enter any information so I don't think it could have done anything or sent any information because I didn't enter it. I appreciate you guys.

The biggest giveaway it was a scam is that the sign in with Facebook and Google options didn't do anything at all. Also I'm already logged in my browser but that link didn't recognize that I was and it should have so that's how I knew not to enter my email or password. If I did it surely would have sent it to the scammer.

You should still change your password and do a virus scan. Just to be on the safe side.

When you block the eBay ID they won't be able to message you anymore.

The biggest giveaway should have been the .RU in the URL, it's a Russian domain.

Have a great day

The URL is a russian site, not ebay.  Why would anyone think it was legitimate?

Reply to the message and ask the buyer if it is a scam. If they say no, then it definitely is. Because that's exactly what a scammer would respond with.

The people that search for eBays number via Google just to call some scam center giving them all their personal information while some how being convinced giving them multiple 500 dollar gift cards will solve the problem.
