How to avoid false policy violations

I keep having items Im selling becoming policy violations and being deleted. I am left to believe this is a automated response acting on certain trigger words since I am very careful not to break any policies. For example my listing for a comic book was titled " Gun Honey Blood For Blood #1 Cvr G Hugault Nude Bagged" was deleted for a policy violation. Without any explanation of why that title is a violation only leaves me clueless and most likely to violate policy again. Which word is triggering the violation? It most certainly wasnt the photograph which was in violation.

How to avoid false policy violations

Well it makes selling comics very difficult to sell if you cant use the actual name of the comic in the title and how would you explain that the comic has a nude cover without using the word "nude"? Wouldnt it be nice if we had a "tick box" that we could "tick" that enabled the listing to only be viewed by verified adults?

That defines your problem. It's not the keyword nude, it's that the cover shows nudity (and the book probably includes it, too). Even if you're not showing the image of the cover, you're not supposed to sell that here. There are really strict rules for what's allowed and not allowed when it comes to nude and comics are specifically called out (policy link). eBay did away with the adults-only category because of the payment processor not allowing it.

So ... sell the nude comics elsewhere. If you keep listing them here you'll get permanently banned.

Simple way to deal with such is not to relist such> and the keyword of course would be nude.

@ericodapro

Likely a word bot.

Gun

Nude

Blood

Just speculation on my part.  As far as I know eBay does not use "picture" bots yet.   Facebook does, and no matter how I tried to sell my sterling silver brooch (that looked like a scotty dog) even with no words in the title or description, my listing was given the axe.   When eBay starts running picture bots, we will know right away depending how they are (NOT) programmed.

I think making Ebay "adults only" is the sort of thing they are trying to avoid....

I do empathize with the names of products making them tricky to sell. Can you, perhaps, list them by author or the publisher? Or perhaps there's an alternative name that fans of the series use in Safe For Work environments?

Well some item are banned that are nude even if the nude is not shown. Of course one does not for sure know what is and is not....Your not showing the cover make me think it would not be allowed by the way and already know this.

You may be fighting a loss with this battle.

@ericodapro I don't know that nude is the key word. I sell dolls and use nude in my titles every week with never one being pulled. Most doll listings will say nude when only the doll with no clothing is sold, it is a keyword very often used for that category.

I agree with you that the title should be permitted, very frustrating not knowing what the cause is. I'm wondering if your listings are being reported by perhaps a rival seller. Not knowing is a challenge for you now.

You should contact customer service by sending a private message on social media. Just leave a message, and an eBay employee will get back to you. To speed things up you can leave your registered account information in the PRIVATE message: Full name, address, phone number, email address, user ID, and a brief explanation of your problem. These are not the CS rep we used to get over the phone either.

How to avoid false policy violations

Can I use the word "nude" in the description or is it just not allowed in the title? Or a better solution would be if ebay gave us an actual reason for the ban, for example: "your listing was deleted because of the use of the word "nude" in the title". Just imagine how helpful that would be instead of having to speculate and waste time writing the community and still not getting a definite answer haha

two reasons this dont happen: one it would easily tell folks how to get around it:

They second is the person that pulled the listing may not know the real reason, especially if it were a bot....

Surprised you had to ask. I can only imagine what this "supposedly" comic is all about. Does not sound anything funny to me.

Your speculation and taking things out of context is what hurts America these days. Shame on you. This comic is a very well written and respected and is one of the most popular modern comics. It has a nude cover and actually falls well within ebays policy.

GUN HONEY: BLOOD FOR BLOOD #1 is a brilliant continuation of the first arc with a well-constructed murder mystery, spy games, revenge, and beautiful women. We were keen on the first arc, and Ardai hasn’t missed a beat picking up in the second.

The highlight of this first issue is the cleverly complex yet easy-to-follow murder plot. Joanna Tan is semi-retired and looking forward to living a life free from the ghosts of the past. Now, somebody with an ax to grind sets a plan in motion to kill multiple birds with one stone. If you know nothing about the Gun Honey character, this is as easy a jump-on point as it gets. The flashbacks to the previous arc are brutally efficient, the investigation into the latest murder is smart, and all the characters raise their game for a new cat-and-mouse adventure.

The second highlight is Kheng’s dramatic, cinematic art. This issue feels like an adaptation of a crime thriller film, from the panel composition to the panel angles to the gritty realism of the characters.

Honestly, there’s not much to criticize with this issue. Ardai and Kheng took everything that worked well from the first arc, repeated it, and built on it for a banger of a first issue.
