How can I ship something on July 3 when the USPS is closed?

I have 2 items with a deadline shipping date of July 3.  How can I meet this deadline when the USPS is closed?  Thank you.

My USPS in Charlotte, NC is OPEN today 7-3 but closed tomorrow 7-4. However I'm trying to ship something via USPS today and it won't let me, will only allow earliest ship date tomorrow 7-4 the day the USPS is closed. WTH.

This!.... I shipped two packages with Sat, July 4th date (Fri, July 3rd was not an option). Then I find out our local branch will not be delivering/picking up that day. Now they sit here and will not go out til Mon, July 6th. Whatever... nobody from eBay will read this or care....
