Well first of all there is obviously nothing we can do about this change.
Ebay likes NEW LISTINGS. They don't like it when you relist things that did not sell right out of the gate, or after 7 days. So now those Good Until Cancelled listings will be GOOD AND HIDDEN if they are automatically relisted at 30 days. You will only have visibility the first few days.
SO here is what I am doing. I listing just 3 or 4 things a day EVERYDAY. That way I will always have something new being listed.
ALSO, I am using the SORT feature to keep track of what is about to end. Before the 30 days is up on any fixed price listing, I will then send it to an AUCTION LISTING for 10 days The Auction listings WILL NOT automatically renew. At least that is my understanding.
When items are not bid on and the auction item end, I will then be able to DECIDE MYSELF what items to relist out of the unsold items, and WHEN to do this.
You need to have some control over what to relist so that you are not relisting a heavy sweater in July ! Instead you can wait until closer to the next season to relist it again.
Just makes more work, but what can you do ??

Thanks !! I will try to space them out more, but it's impossible for me to list every day.
If I end a buy it now item 24 hours prior to auto re-listing and then list it as a 7 day auction, will that have the same effect on the algorithm as a new item ?
Thanks, Scott

AMEN! Have you tried Bonanza? No listing fees, good til canceled, much lower final value fees, just not the traffic ebay gets. Hopefully sellers will catch on and Bonanza can be as big as ebay someday soon and won't get too big for their britches like ebay has. There is also a feature where you can transfer all of your listings from ebay to Bonanza in minutes.
That is true. But, when I had my shop, there were no buyers. Spent too many hours going to my shop to see if anything sold. Finally decided to give it up and I closed it down.

I have a basic store, which gives me 250 fixed price + 250 auction-style listings. I list every day, making sure I never list more than 250 fixed price listings in a month. I try and throw in a few auctions.
In my UNSOLDS are usually around 70-80 listings that I rotate.
I like your idea of using the SEND TO AUCTION just before the FP rolls over.
I have used the CUSTOMIZE option and added START DATE and END DATE to my Active Listings and Unsold Listings. I also sort by TIME LEFT, so I can see which listings will be ending and when, and can make my decision to either END them (or use the SEND TO ONLINE AUCTION for my listings with a Quantity of 1).

Today I canceled all of my listings. I will relist all of them when fixed price duration flexibility is returned to the options. I will not list for the now required 30 days. I have called ebay to let them know I am not happy with the policy. I was told that lots of other people are unhappy as well. Ebay makes it's money from us when we sell. If we keep the pressure on they will change. We do NOT have to accept this!!

If I could find somewhere else besides Amazon I'd be selling on there now! 😞

I'm a Republican pcobra93 -- and a capitalist thru and thru. A good capitalist never stops finding a way to make money no matter which way the wind is blowing. Not like I am making a fortune here - LOL. It's just a nice extra bit of cash flow, AND I enjoy taking the pictures and working with the clothes.
NOW I just have to hope that announcing that I am a Republican here does not cause Ebay to hide my listings - LOL. But I really -- honestly don't think Ebay's policies are a socialist conspiracy against us because they are the biggest capitalists of all.

I 100% agree with you. I was just pointing out that people here are so mad about having fewer choices and being told what to do then go out and vote for people that want to give you fewer choices and tell you what to do......makes no sense. I am sure Ebay just throttled me way back in their search "engine" too.....

And don't forget to stop buying items from ebay. They have already lost 20K annually in business from me.
