EBAY OWES SELLERS REPARATIONS FOR ONGOING UNCORRECTED SERIOUS SITE ISSUES! WHAT SAY YOU, SELLERS?

On the 10/30 Weekly Chat, I asked what eBay was planning to do to compensate sellers for these ongoing and uncorrected serious site issues.  My question was completed ignored!  For myself, I cannot revise, sell similar or list new items.  My account has been completely tied up since 10/21.  I called CS on 10/21 and a Seller Specialist escalated it to Tech Support and it has been sent to Tech Support two more times that I am unaware of. This is costing us money and I feel that for those of us who have stores, the monthly fee should be partially or fully waved. Would like to hear what other sellers have to say about this. What say you, sellers?

I agree but I am going to call billing and request a credit when I receive my next statement.  It is unlikely but I will try.  Since I started selling on eBay in 2008, there have been many site glitches but never so many SERIOUS AND UNCORRECTED issues as there are now.  Ebay completely botched the last update!!! If you want to see how bad it is for MANY sellers, take a peek at this thread.

Good luck with that as after the last serious outage ebay updated their UA to say no compensation for site issues would be considered.

That was always in the UA as far back as I remember anyway.  I do believe you are correct, they reworded it and probably made it a broader statement, but basic statement had been there a long time.

You should call and get the CSV file for your listings. There is a great youtube video on the process from an ebay seller. Extremely thorough video from a experienced seller who has 3400 listings.  Hope this helps.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KbEie2FLRY

Ebay did not screw up the last update. Do you believe Chinese mega sellers had these issues. I was done to boast their sales and to get rid of small and average sellers. Elliott and Stsrbird sre company breakers. We cost to much in server space. We will be gone soon. They do not care.

You might get don't let the door hit you on the way out because Ebay could care less about the sellers.

Ebay is not required my any law to have any particular size seller on its site.  If Ebay did not want small and average sellers as you call them, they just wouldn't be here.  Ebay would gate the community and be done with it.  They don't have to go through some elaborate undertaking to get rid of them, they would just do it.

And there is plenty of proof that there is significant problems with Ebay last update whether you want to recognize it or not.  It may not even affect you, but it does plenty of other sellers.  If you are interested in updating yourself on these issues, just ask.  We can provide you with information for your consideration, but I won't bother you with it if it is something that doesn't interest you or you won't consider.

They won't do it. Ever.

I've had a situation where the advice directly from a supervisor and "listing specialist" to set ~50% of our items as "MPN Does Not Apply".

Weeks later they ended up getting every single listing taken down, losing the sales history for all of them.

After they were taken down, we got an email that "1 month from now listings with MPN Does not apply will be taken down". It had ALREADY STARTED before they gave notice that it's supposed to begin 1 month later...?

Then I checked email and at the beginning of the year they said MPN enforcement would NOT begin until at least 1 year later. Yet they began it 6 months later.

Then I was told by CSR's who looked in to our issues, that the date that all those listings were taken down, is where our impressions decrease started, and it had caused PERMANENT damage because they never fully recovered since then.

So even with this situation, they would NOT compensate us. Even though THEIR advice led to the losses. Even though THEIR system took down listings a month before it was supposed to. Even though THEIR PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS claimed it wouldn't be starting for another year.

They admitted to causing permanent damage to our account. They don't care, sadly.

Thanks for trying to help but I'm afraid that it won't.  My problems are being caused by eBay saying my PayPal account is invalid.

Nope, it wasn't because for a LONG time ebay did actually provide 'compensation' of one sort or another for site outtages etc. even if it was just in the form of extending auction durations.
