EBAY OWES SELLERS REPARATIONS FOR ONGOING UNCORRECTED SERIOUS SITE ISSUES! WHAT SAY YOU, SELLERS?

On the 10/30 Weekly Chat, I asked what eBay was planning to do to compensate sellers for these ongoing and uncorrected serious site issues.  My question was completed ignored!  For myself, I cannot revise, sell similar or list new items.  My account has been completely tied up since 10/21.  I called CS on 10/21 and a Seller Specialist escalated it to Tech Support and it has been sent to Tech Support two more times that I am unaware of. This is costing us money and I feel that for those of us who have stores, the monthly fee should be partially or fully waved. Would like to hear what other sellers have to say about this. What say you, sellers?

Good luck with that as after the last serious outage ebay updated their UA to say no compensation for site issues would be considered.

That was always in the UA as far back as I remember anyway.  I do believe you are correct, they reworded it and probably made it a broader statement, but basic statement had been there a long time.

Nope, it wasn't because for a LONG time ebay did actually provide 'compensation' of one sort or another for site outtages etc. even if it was just in the form of extending auction durations.

I did a little more research on that and you are correct.  They changed it in 2014.  Sorry, I was incorrect in what I said earlier.

Yes.  Ebay's UA covers it so that it is not accountable for anything.  And yes, you may say that we all agree to this when we sell on eBay and you would be correct. But while this may be legal, in some cases, it is not ethical! I do agree with eBay that they should not have to make reparations for every small site error which is corrected in a timely manner.  But this is not the case here.  These are MAJOR site issues and some sellers have been seriously affected for three weeks without even an estimate from eBay regarding when these issues will be corrected.  And in some instances, eBay has stated that certain issues have been corrected when they have not. These current issues are costing sellers much extra time and money.  And this is made even worse because this is happening during the holiday season. And how many times have sellers requested that eBay suspend these 4th quarter roll-outs with eBay ignoring their requests? It is no wonder that many sellers (and some buyers) have lost faith in eBay.  In this type of situation, eBay would be much better served if it provided some relief to affected sellers.  They are going to lose money one way or another.  They can either spend it by compensating affected sellers and regaining some of their trust or lose it when sellers move to other online venues.  It is no wonder that eBay's 3rd quarter revenues are pathetic compared to the other major online venues. This is one time when "we apologize" just doesn't cut it!

Managed payments are not being paid out promptly, refunds are not being processed promptly .... they are acting like a company that is having a cash flow problem. What is strange is their books don't show that, so not sure what is going on.

Reparations are out of the question... don't even waste energy on it.

You are correct. There will never be reparations as long as sellers just roll over and accept it.

Have you tried changing to not requiring instant payment. My setting has always been like that and I have no problem getting paid. I'm sure you have probably tried everything but thought I would just mention this. I would call and get a supervisor on the phone to help you. This is unacceptable for you to lose business for so many days.

Re: EBAY OWES SELLERS REPARATIONS FOR ONGOING UNCORRECTED SERIOUS SITE ISSUES! WHAT SAY YOU, SELLERS

My main problem is that I cannot relist, revise, sell similar or put up new listings.  This PayPal issue has my whole account tied up.  But we can receive and make payments. While you are correct that removing immediate payment will correct the issue. I cannot do this for my 300 + fragrance listings as the prices frequently change and they move in and out of stock quickly.  And these are where we make most of our money. By the time a buyer pays for an item, it may have had a significant price increase or be out of stock. For this reason, I keep them in at 1 available.  My best selling fragrances / sizes have been purchased and I cannot resell them because they are now showing 0 in stock and I cannot revise the number available or edit the price.
