Earlier this morning, a buyer purchased an item from me using BIN and seconds later he put in a cancellation request. Cancellation reason: "Order placed by mistake."
After reading the cancel details...
Total refund to buyer: $5.64
Refund summary
Purchase price: $5.64
Shipping: $0.00
Fee credits: -$1.10
(Final Value Fee Variable percentage $0.80, Final Value Fee Per order fixed amount $0.30)
Refund amount you owe: $4.54
Did I lose $1.10 on someone's mistake? Is $1.10 what I must right down on my records? Refunds and cancellations happens once in a blue moon for me. But I remember years ago that the FVFs are non-refundable when refunds happen, and I presume eBay never changed that.

Ebay didn't use to refund those fees . Now they do . You refund $4.54 and the other $1.10 is refunded by Ebay

It shows you only have to refund $4.54 and the $1.10 is a credit, so you don’t lose anything.
