Trying to get out in front of eBay's new standards for sports trading cards, migrating from new/used to graded/ungraded.
When I try to edit my existing listings in bulk, it doesn't update. I tried 2,000 at a time and it just spun and didn't finish. Tried a 100 at a time and more than half of them did not update.
I'm trying to comply with the new rules, but I can't update these one at a time.
Can these fields be updated via bulk upload?

I need an answer to this question as well. This looks to be a BUNCH of work.

Seller Hub can safely bulk update 200 at a time. If some listings in that batch don't update, there may be some other mandate that must also be updated at the same time.
You should be able to update your card listings by uploading a spreadsheet on the SellerHub > Reports > Uploads page using the old File Exchange CSV method.
https://www.ebay.com/sh/reports/uploads
The upload page will provide a report of the items that failed and should give a reason why.
To start, you will need a list of items for your spreadsheet. On the SellerHub Active listings page, at top right, is the ability to download an XLSX report. From the download droplist, select "Missing condition details - required soon ()". This will be the spreadsheet that you can modify and upload to eBay. It contains a full list of Item Specifics.
The spreadsheet runs a macro that allows you to click and select the correct value from a droplist within each cell. If your system blocks scripts and macros in a spreadsheet, you can change a setting somewhere to allow. Otherwise you won't know what values are available. In your case of 7700 listings, I would recommend getting the cell droplists working.
You must first select and change the ConditionID to a valid value before the condition detail droplists will be activated.
If you can't turn on the macro and use the really convenience cell droplists, then you will need to unhide the sheet of values hidden in the workbook to expose the values that you will need. That is what I had to do previously. I unhid sheets with a right-click on the tab-row that displays sheet names, and from there could unhide sheets. However, this spreadsheet works for me.
After making corrections, export or save your page as a CSV file that you can upload to eBay.
I'll do a test run this afternoon to make sure the CSV upload works correctly and doesn't erase Item Specs. Then I'll post my findings.

Hi @skeenaman and @jpwest13,
You could use Seller Hub Reports (File Exchange) to revise listings. You could first download a file with your active listings:
1. Click "Uploads" on the left side of Seller Hub Reports.
2. Click "Get template."
3. Select "Listings" as template source.
4. Select "Edit price and quantity" as template type.
5. Click "Download."
You can add additional columns as needed (the order of columns does not matter, other than the fact that the first column must always be Action). If you don't intend to change the quantity, I would recommend that you delete the Available quantity column.
The new condition values for Sports Mem, Cards & Fan Shop/Sports Trading Cards/Trading Card Singles:
If the card is ungraded, enter 4000 in ConditionID. And enter the card condition in the following column:
CD:Card Condition - (ID: 40001)
In that column, you would enter one of the following:
Near mint or better - (ID: 400010)
Excellent - (ID: 400011)
Very good - (ID: 400012)
Poor - (ID: 400013)
If the card is graded, enter 2750 in ConditionID. And enter appropriate values in the following columns:
CD:Professional Grader - (ID: 27501)
CD:Grade - (ID: 27502)
Values for CD:Professional Grader - (ID: 27501): Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) - (ID: 275010); Beckett Collectors Club Grading (BCCG) - (ID: 275011); Beckett Vintage Grading (BVG) - (ID: 275012); Beckett Grading Services (BGS) - (ID: 275013); Certified Sports Guaranty (CSG) - (ID: 275014); Sportscard Guaranty Corporation (SGC) - (ID: 275016); K Sportscard Authentication (KSA) - (ID: 275017); Gem Mint Authentication (GMA) - (ID: 275018); Hybrid Grading Approach (HGA) - (ID: 275019); International Sports Authentication (ISA) - (ID: 2750110); Gold Standard Grading (GSG) - (ID: 2750112); Platin Grading Service (PGS) - (ID: 2750113); MNT Grading (MNT) - (ID: 2750114); Technical Authentication & Grading (TAG) - (ID: 2750115); Rare Edition (Rare) - (ID: 2750116); Revolution Card Grading (RCG) - (ID: 2750117); Card Grading Australia (CGA) - (ID: 2750120); Trading Card Grading (TCG) - (ID: 2750121); Other - (ID: 2750123)
Values for CD:Grade - (ID: 27502): 10 - (ID: 275020); 9.5 - (ID: 275021); 9 - (ID: 275022); 8.5 - (ID: 275023); 8 - (ID: 275024); 7.5 - (ID: 275025); 7 - (ID: 275026); 6.5 - (ID: 275027); 6 - (ID: 275028); 5.5 - (ID: 275029); 5 - (ID: 2750210); 4.5 - (ID: 2750211); 4 - (ID: 2750212); 3.5 - (ID: 2750213); 3 - (ID: 2750214); 2.5 - (ID: 2750215); 2 - (ID: 2750216); 1.5 - (ID: 2750217); 1 - (ID: 2750218); Authentic - (ID: 2750219); Authentic Altered - (ID: 2750220); Authentic - Trimmed - (ID: 2750221); Authentic - Colored - (ID: 2750222)
It is recommended that you also enter the certification number in the following column:

Thanks, I had no idea that you could add columns to the "change price or quantity" template. Can this technique be used to edit existing values, or only to add new columns?
In other words, could I add new columns like CD:Card Condition - (ID: 40001), and also change the values for Shipping Policy?

You can add any columns to the "Edit price and quantity" spreadsheet, and I always use it as my starting point to obtain item numbers.
In the API, the ConditionDescriptors (CD: ) are standalone and separate from the Item Specifics (C: ) fields. In eBay's Seller Hub (FileExchange) spreadsheet for updating ConditionDescriptors, the Item Specifics are included (probably to assist in determining the new condition).
I ran a test using a minimal number of fields, and the omitted Item Specifics remained undisturbed, while the new descriptors were added (meaning the CD fields are not part of the C group). Here, in its entirety, is the spreadsheet I uploaded:
Action | ItemID | ConditionID | CD:Professional Grader - (ID: 27501) | CD:Grade - (ID: 27502) | CDA:Certification Number - (ID: 27503) | CD:Card Condition - (ID: 40001) |
Revise | 225797136510 | 4000 | Very good - (ID: 400012) | |||
Revise | 386159221445 | 2750 | MNT Grading (MNT) - (ID: 2750114) | 8.5 - (ID: 275023) | 987654 |
That means if you start from your SellerHub report of items that require ConditionDescriptors, you can eliminate all but these required columns.
