Monthly Chat - April 12th at 1:00 pm PST

Come chat with the eBay Community team this month as the chat will be an open forum for you to ask questions. Get all of your questions ready for the us, so we can make the most out of this month's chat on April 12th at 1:00 pm PT!

Thanks for joining us for the Monthly Chat with the eBay Community team.

The chat thread will remain open until 2 PM PT at which point we'll close it from additional responses. After that time, we'll continue to work on responding to any queries that might still be unanswered.

To post your question, click Reply in the lower right corner of this post, type your question, and hit submit between 1-2 PM Pacific Time. The format of our chat mirrors the format of our Community Discussion Boards, where each post will appear in the thread chronologically. The taxAct and Community Team will review each question as it comes in, and will quote the original question in our reply. This quote and the reply will appear later in the thread, so just keep scrolling down to see our answers.

As a reminder, we want to be able to get to as many members as possible during the allotted hour, so we have a few things to ask of you:

  • Keep on topic
  • Scroll through the list of questions to see what has already been asked to decrease chances of redundancy
  • Keep the message/question simple and no more than one to two items. If you include multiple questions in a post, please be aware that they may not be addressed during the chat and (specialist name) will do their best to follow-up with it after the chat has closed

Missed the chat? Send your questions to the podcast by calling 888-723-4630 or email us at podcast@ebay.com and maybe your questions will make it on the air! Or listen to past episodes while you wait for next month!

Can we get a status update on ebay's efforts to transform offers and auctions to Immediate Payment?

And at least an approximate time frame for its completion (I'd love to see "before Q4 of 2023", for example)

In Seller Hub>Performance>Tracking....If a buyer comes to my store from my social media page, I assume that buyer is shown as "external" on the "views" graph. Once he has actually looked at one of my store items, if he continues to look at more of them, is he still "external" for each view, or do those views become "organic" / "promoted"?

We have been asking for this for a long time, but I'll try again: Is ebay ever going to provide us with more detailed tracking for external traffic, so we can know whether the buyer has come from, say, Google or from Facebook? Obviously, this would help those of us who try to drive traffic to ebay from social media, and I'm sure ebay has this data , so how about sharing it with your partners, the sellers?

Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques! I love this suggestion and know this has been shared multiple times, so we'll pass this along again, because this would be a great feature for sellers.

@my-cottage-books-and-antiques  I know that the team is looking into adding immediate payments to auctions but at this time there is no status to provide as far as a timetable for when it will be implemented.

Can we get a status update from the eIS team that was here last month.  What has changed in the past 30 days and is there an ETA on the listing level ability to turn off eIS?

Thank you in advance for all your efforts to help and keep us informed.  You are appreciated.  All of you.

This is from last year's Spring Seller Update:

Later this year, ....

We’ll also introduce a new feature that will let buyers request a bundled offer on multiple items. These multi-item offers can be completed in one transaction, saving you time and making it easier for buyers to purchase more of your items.

This was scheduled for "later this year" (2022). Has this actually launched?

I've seen no indication of it. If not, when will it launch?

Hi, I am having an issue getting an API increase limit.  I have applied for the application growth check and my application was denied.

However I am a very good customer/client of ebay and I am looking for some advice or explanation of what I can do to increase the limit?

I am given no explanation.  I have contacted ebay on facebook and ebay customer support and was told that the developer program is a different program and nobody can reach out for me?

When I talk to the developers about why I am denied they say the application growth check is a different team and they can't reach out to them for me?

I am not asking for alot of API limit and I have a strong relationship with ebay to more than justify this increase.

You are my last effort to try and figure this out,  thanks

Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques that's an excellent question.  We're not quite sure, but we'll pass this question along to the appropriate team.

Edit:  Hey @my-cottage-books-and-antiques  these would still be considered external views.  External site views represent the number of promoted and organic clicks on a listing originating from external sites, including search engines.  Promoted views represent the number of clicks from promoted listings.  While Organic views represent clicks on listings that are found via impressions through search on eBay.

Hi @mam98031. As of most recent, this is on their list of priorities. They're finishing up the ramp of adding additional sellers, and once that's complete, they'll be able to move on to new enhancements.

Could you shed some light on this?

I have my payouts set to weekly.  The popup box says Tuesdays.

March 30th (thursday) eBay sent a payout

April 3 was set as the next payout date (Monday?)  - of course my store renews that day so nothing was sent.

Next payout was scheduled for April 10th (monday)

The actual email notification was dated Tuesday 4:06 am.  (which is Tuesday  4/11)

My bank received it on 4/11 and made funds available the next day 4/12

Then I get a "we sent a payment' notice dated 4/12  - arriving after my bank made funds available.

Can't say what eBay plans for next week because right now payments are processing slowly and I've already shipped so I am in the negative with "no payments pending"

What happened to Tuesdays?   Why did this change?   Why weren't we notified?

ps I still wish there was a way to automatically charge the credit card without taking  'available' and 'processing' funds to pay for the store fee.
