I recently purchased this corrugated vase by well known Acoma, New Mexico potter Jessie Garcia. The piece measures 7.5" tall and approximately 6.5" wide. Hoping that someone can help me with a couple of questions.
Is there a reliable method of dating her work? I've seen several references to items being her "early" work but no specifics. I haven't had any luck searching for a guide to dating her work online.
Second question, on the base near the signature is a string of 9 numbers, 391189935. Any suggestions as to what these numbers may represent? I've seen people engrave items with their SSN and DL number but this is obviously too long. Thought maybe it might be a catalog number but once again couldn't find anything.
