Thanks for any help that you can give me on this fox container. My daughter and I found it today and have been trying to get more information on when it was made and what is was used for. We think that the PB & S on the base might be Powell, Bishop, and Stonier, but are not sure and can't find anything like this container on multiple google searches.
We are puzzled by the metal rim with small cut outs and are not sure of their purpose. It is about 4 inches high from the base to the top of the fox's head and about 4 inches across. It seems to be ceramic.
I would appreciate any leads or suggestions. Thanks so much.

powell bishop and stonier went out of business in the late 19th century and were not in london. this mark would appear to be from after world war I. PB&S may be the retailer.

Thank you for your information. I will have to keep looking to find out about the PB &S company noted on the bottom.

I think the cut outs held spoons or picks.

That makes sense, Johnny. I wonder what would have been served in the container.
