It is very hard to find china date codes. I clicked on a Google link to the old RWCN site and that led to a porn site.

I have Barbara Conroy's books on Restaurant China. The mark was used early 1940's - mid 1940's. As far as date codes, she indicates that a letter followed by a number does represent the date. A for 1940 's to W for 1962. She noted that Buffalo could not verify this information. If it is correct, your piece would date from October 1943, which is consistent with the mark.
