Good morning! I recently came across this interesting plate and bought it out of curiosity, thinking I could do some research and figure out what it might be. I thought wrong. Extensive internet searching hasn't been productive so far, so I thought I'd check with the experienced folks on here.
This plate is 9 inches wide across the flat edge, and is 8 sided. It's hand painted in this amazing colorful pattern of flowers in dark reds and oranges, alternating with blue and black wedges. I love how the symmetry is intentionally skewed, creating quite a vibrant look.
There's no sign of what I can identify as a mark. It feels old, and there is some light chipping around the edges (mainly on the pointy corners). The underside is white, with light blue lines around the foot ring and 4 dark blue shapes that probably represent something (I wish I knew what).
Any suggestions are MUCH appreciated.
