A confusing eBay message.

On March 5 we received a payout for an item purchased and delivered.  Why is EBay now informing us on March 24 that they have cancelled the transaction and that we should not ship or contact the shipper to stop delivery?  This does not make any sense at all.  Someone please explain this.

It may be that the person you sold to is no longer allowed to use eBay and eBay is notifying everyone who had a transaction with them during a certain period. Since you have already completed your transaction then there is nothing for you to do.

Just be aware that a chargeback can be opened against you for up to 6 months after the transaction.

In some cases, there might be technical errors or glitches in the eBay system that could lead to cancelation notifications being sent out incorrectly. However, without specific information, it's difficult to determine if this is the case in your situation.

They closed the buyers account that was previously opened because of possible suspicious activity. If you have already shipped this item item you should be covered under Ebay seller protection especially since you did  not get that message from them in time to stop the delivery to this person.

If buyer account is flagged and removed they are already aware that something is wrong with that account. That would help the seller in a chargeback dispute. They would most likely be covered under Ebay seller protection.

I would like to see ebay policy that states sellers are protected when EBAY closes a buyer's account and the buyer does a chargeback.
