Hattie Carnegie - Can't figure out what this is

I have this piece that is marked Hattie Carnegie inside both rings, but I can't figure out what it is. Even asked a jeweler and he has no idea. Any thoughts? Much appreciated. Measures 3-1/4" stretched end to end. And each ring would be size 8.  I have included photos.

Double finger ring chain.

Intended to go on one finger or span 2 different fingers.

Google it and many will come up

Also, how does a "jeweler" not know this? That's like a mechanic not knowing what a dual exhaust is.

Thank you soooo much.  I never would have figure it out on my own (never saw one before).  I did google it and see quite a few. Not sure why the jeweler was so puzzled by it.  Appreciate your quick response.
