Dont they have coals for BBQs? or are those fake coals?
12-10-2018 04:45 PM
Ya BBQ on charcoal briquettes -- they're wood-based I think (?). Coal is the stuff mined from the ground. It requires perseverance to build a fire with it in your fireplace but it makes a good warm fire that lasts a long time. A somewhat stinky fire though, and you really don't want to cook your BBQ with it. 😉
Never used coal for a fire here at home. My brother lived in Northern Ireland for a couple of years and he had a big pile of coal in his shed. When I was visiting I learned how to make it burn ... with a little help from a parafin (sp?) product. Even so, it wasn't easy to light it.
