I've looked and looked with loupe and good light and cannot make out what it says, if anything. The brooch itself is very small and this is just tiny raised area on the back.

It looks like a Scandinavian Maker's Mark but I am not sure which of the countries.

I found a site with Scandinavian maker's marks but find it a little difficult to navigate.

Does the marking look anything like "loom" as in Royal Order of the Moose??

I found a similar Elk head in a pin.

No, it doesn't look like a word, just letters. I'll go over that site when I have some time.

The clasp on this looks like it might date to the 19teens. Given this it might not be possible to learn the Maker. Is it possible this is gold or gold filled?

I thought it might be gold or gf - it did polish up with Silvo, black tarnish coming off.

Just under the ear is a round disc that might be a shallow cup that might be for a seed pearl.

Yes, I see it now that you mention it - it does look like there may have been a pearl there - looks like a tiny stem coming off the leaf stem, could represent a berry.

Just a thought,,do you think perhaps that "hallmark" we are looking at on the bottom might be where a hook was for say a dangle to hang?? and is broken off??

I think that is a possibility, in which case I am very embarrassed.

I think I see a 10K above the strange * Mark 😕

Well, whatever it says or is, I really appreciate everyone taking the time to look and post.
