Maybe using a white background would work better to show the red? Pink and purple are hard for my camera to capture, sometimes red too.

Medusa, I wouldn't use white behind a white or cream piece - not enough contrast. Try a charcoal gray.

As for your red problem, it's most likely a blue problem. There is an issue with the way all digital cameras handle blue. A long time ago there was a post here about it. You need a full-featured image editor to play with the red/green/blue settings - I've been using Paint Shop Pro for years. If you don't want to spend the money on a commercial image editor, The Gimp is free (I've never used it and some of those open source programs can be awkward to use) and there are probably cloud-based image editors as well.
