My husband and I inherited his mothers doll collection. We have identified all of the dolls except for one. This doll is unique and we haven't been able to find anything online to compare it to. It is probably composite. It's on a stick with a pull string that moves the arms to ring the bells and plays a little tune inside. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi rickedy,
I think this type of doll is referred to as a marotte. Most marottes have a doll's head & with no arms or legs, bells & sometimes a music box. Your marotte is rather unique, with a complete doll with limbs. I'm not sure what material the head is made of, possibly celluloid. It looks very German to me, dating from about the late 1800's to early 20th century. Google "marotte" and you will see dolls similar to your's.
