Whoever Manchester was, s/he copied a very famous painting -- but my brain is frozen and I cannot think of the artist or the name of the work. Someone will be along soon with the correct identification.

Late 19th cent copy of a 17th c child portrait. Show a pic of the back showing the stretcher bars for a possibly more accurate date.

Thanks. Yes, still last qtr of the 19th century. Keyed, machine made stretcher bars.

Yes, that is the infant James II (son of Charles I).
