I found this in a box of items I purchased from an estate sale. I think it may be resin but not sure. It weighs a little over 1 pound. The bottom is marked Appleman but backwards as if it was used as a stamp. It also has Chinese letters. Does anyone know what this is and what the markings are? Thank you so much for any help. I researched but cam up empty! LOL

It'll be fairly recent, like this similar one (the "orange jade" part is the seller's guesswork) :

The character on the side of yours is 利 (meaning benefit, advantage, successful):

The three Chinese characters on the seal itself were evidently put there by or for the (Western) owner. They are not difficult to identify, but I do not know what sense they are intended to convey in juxtaposition like that.

Hi,
This is soapstone from China, this is an ink stamp/stone. If you google vintage chinese soap stone ink stamps, you will find similar.
It is not jade.
Hope this helps 🙂
