I bought these today at an estate sale - it was run by a business friend who was a antique dealer & who'd bought pieces from me I found in storage auctions. He told me he'd had these at least 20 years & always thought they were federal style eagle lamps until a friend told him that the little rise/hump on the top/back of the bird's heads was actually birds that were symbols of the nazi germany era.
Could this be true? They weren't expensive; $25 for the pair, but the plug appears like it could be from that time & the marble base isn't a cheap base, so I just want to be sure of what I have.
I appreciate any help.

What you have are 1960s "faux" colonial style lamps, that looks like someone replaced the bases on. Those marble bases arent actually half bad,Id use them on some other lamp.

The kind of lamps that would be used to accessorize a 1960s den with paneled walls and faux brick fireplace surround.
