Did you mean:

1943 Rusted Penny 499.99 ???

I've collected for decades, though not Lincoln cents. Recently became interested in the steels. Is there some numismatic value to rusted 1943 steel cents that I've completely missed? These two are being offered right now (1 May 2021) for $499.99 each in separate auctions by a Salvation Army seller. Course I messaged and asked, but no reply. At first I wondered if they thought they had copper... but the rust is so obvious.

Did I miss something about the value of steel Lincolns losing their zinc covering and rusting, being valuable... or are they still considered cull at best? Thanks for any thoughts or insight.

I can list a penny for a million: even if it said sold does not mean I got paid... (That the eBay way.)

Such listings are sucker bait or just plain ignorance of the value.

P. T. Barnum is said to have made this statement:

'There is a sucker born every minute'.

Could be?
