I bought 2 pairs of ray ban sunglasses on bids separately from a seller on ebay. Directly after payment, the seller deleted his account so I opened a dispute with paypal and selected "I didn't receive my item". About 5 days later the sell uploaded 2 tracking numbers and the dispute was closed. I received a package about a week later and to my surprized the box was empty. So i tried to open a dispute with ebay and got a message saying "paypal reported that you already opened a dispute." I am yet to receive the second pair of ray ban which might be an empty box as well. What am i to do? I can't open a dispute with ebay or Paypal.

So now you know next time to start an Item Not Received on eBay first.
And all the posters here that say: "Go to PayPal" --
when an item or seller has been removed --
now know that the seller can answer the PayPal dispute --
by simply fabricating a "Delivered" tracking number --
in the 20 days to escalate, plus 10 days* to respond to PayPal --
and doing that will close the case in favor of the seller --
but the buyer can no longer open a case at eBay.
*There are far fewer days to fabricate "Delivered" tracking at eBay.

Now at PayPal, click "change the reason" for your claim:
because you did receive the package, but it's empty --
you didn't purchase an empty package --
so that is not as described.

Always make a call to ebay when something like this happens. They will guide you through the best way to proceed. Follow their recommendation and timeliness and you will be covered under the mbg.

@lkn4fish Actually you should always read the money back guarantee and use it correctly. A phone call to eBay would not have helped OP. He filed with PayPal first. He should have filed with ebay first. So a phone call here wouldn’t have helped him.

Leowife, Yes but if OP had called ebay b4 taking action they would have guided him in the correct direction for coverage under the MBG.

Similar thing happened to me also except I received nothing & got a notice from eBay saying "comprised account now item not listed."
I thought eBay bought PayPal. Both SHOULD work together shouldn't they?
I'm mad as hell. This looks like I need to go to AMAZON.
